Entry Requirement
school Candidates must hold either the WSET® Level 3 Award in Wines (or the WSET® Level 3 Award in Wines and Spirits) to enrol the WSET® Level 4 Diploma and must be over 18 to have passed the Level 3.
language Candidates whose first language is not English are strongly recommended to have an IELTS score of 6.5 or above or be able to demonstrate an equivalent ability level.

Learning Pathways
Choose a study format that best fits your schedule and learning preferences.
Part-Time Evening Programme
The Part-Time Evening Programme is suitable for students who live in Hong Kong or can travel to Hong Kong for regular evening lessons. This is by far our most popular format for students living in Hong Kong.
Block Release Programme
The Block Release Programme is suitable for students who do not live in Hong Kong, or locals cannot attend the Part-Time Evening Programme. This format requires studying at home and then travelling to Hong Kong for intensive classroom tasting just before exams.
Online Learning Programme
(Formerly known as Distance Learning Programme)
The Online Learning Programme requires students to attend the lectures online, study at home, and then travel to Hong Kong for the exams. This format requires a higher level of personal study time than the Part-Time or Block Release formats. No classroom tasting tutorials will be provided.
INTRODUCTION DAY
The Diploma Introduction Day for the upcoming September 2026 intake will be held on 11 July 2026, Saturday, from 5 pm to 6:30 pm at AWSEC Hong Kong. The session will be led by Jennie the CEO and Principal Educator of AWSEC. Seats are limited, so please register HERE at your earliest convenience.
