  How long does a sommelier course last?

  The course of a sommelier in Hong Kong takes up two whole days for completion. The course is considered to go at a fast pace and is on a level that is above the basic foundation one.   When the second day of the course arrives, a theoretical examination is conducted for those that have taken the course. For the sake of passing the exam, the percentage cut off is set at a minimum of 60% for obtaining the introductory Sommelier course CMS certificate.

This is the first Sake qualification course covers history, culture of Sake and production process. This course helps those who want to master Sake selection skill in shops and restaurants. A certificate will be issued upon completion of this entry level course (no exam for this course).

Students have an opportunity to learn further aspects of Sake including its variations and production methods as well as how to work with Sake after completing the Introductory Sake Professional course. Other factors that affect Sake such as maturity, temperature and aromatic profiles are also introduced to help students gain further understanding of the magical drink. A certificate of Certified Sake Sommelier and a lapel pin will be issued upon completion of this course.

Advanced Sake Sommelier course is a programme which takes place in Japan. This course offers you a unique insider’s view of Japan by visiting carefully handpicked Sake breweries in stunning suburban villages and beautiful, traditional cities. You will be able to see, touch and feel authentic Sake making processes under the guidance of Toji (Sake master).
