CONFLICT OF INTEREST

A conflict of interest is a situation where an individual has interests or loyalties that could adversely influence their judgement, objectivity, or loyalty to AWSEC and/or the awarding bodies AWSEC offers courses and/or exams for.

Monitoring and managing potential conflicts of interest is essential to safeguarding the integrity of AWSEC’s operations and the qualifications which students attain through attending classes with AWSEC.

Examples of Conflict of Interest may include:

• Marking the script of a candidate who is known to the marker

• Teaching of students by an individual who will also be involved in their assessment

• Investigating alleged non-compliance with regulations by someone who cannot act impartially

Some Conflicts of Interest can be managed by taking steps to ensure awareness of the potential conflict and then taking steps to ensure no adverse effects from that potential conflict. AWSEC has policies in place to manage such potential conflicts of interest.

AWSEC is required to declare any potential conflicts of interest to any awarding body which we offer courses and/or exams for to ensure that any potential conflict is managed.

If you know of or suspect any conflict of interest, please email learningsupport@awsec.com
