WSET Level 2 Award in Wines


COURSE INFORMATION
  • Wines are carefully selected and tasted at each session to highlight learning objectives
  • Over 50 wines to be tasted from many countries and grape varieties
  • The course will cover the most important wine styles from main wine-producing regions
  • Understand the factors that influence wine style and quality
  • Practical guidance on wine tasting and objective wine quality assessment
  • 9 sessions (18 hours in total)
  • 2 revision sessions incorporated in the course to maximise learning
  • 1 hour closed-book exam consists of 50 multiple-choice questions
  • Conducted in English or Cantonese (with English materials)

A internationally recognised and comprehensive qualification wine course that covers the major grape varieties, the important wine regions as well as the styles of wines made. By completing this course, you will be able to describe and compare different styles, quality of wine and understand the factors that influence them. It will also cover key classifications and labelling terminology which will enhance wine knowledge for both professionals & enthusiasts. At each session there will be a lineup of wines to highlight the learning objectives, with over 50 wines to be tasted from many countries and grape varieties during the course.

There is no prerequisite to attend the Level 2 Award in Wines, although we recommend that students should have acquired some basic knowledge before attending the course (perhaps gained from Level 1 Award in Wines or attending some of our Tutored Tastings or Workshops).

Once you obtain the Level 2 Award in Wines qualification, you can apply to use the WSET Certified logo.

Examination:  A closed-book examination that consists of 50 multiple-choice questions worth one mark each
Exam Duration:  1 Hour
Passing Grade:  55%
