This course:
- Introduces main types and styles of wine
- Covers skills useful for everyone, including how to describe wine, how to store and serve wine
- Includes enlightening food and wine pairing exercise with a taste of a few local Hong Kong dishes
- Has more interactive activities to deepen your knowledge and understanding of wine
- Is suitable for front-line staff involved in the service or sales or anyone interested in wines
- Teaches proficiency in international dining etiquette and confidence in choosing and talking about wine in social settings
- Includes 3 sessions (6 hours in total), including a 45-minute closed-book exam consists of 30 multiple-choice questions
This qualification provides a basic introduction to the main types and styles of wine available to front-line staff involved in the service or sale of wine. The qualification aims to provide the basic product knowledge and skills in the storage and service of wine required to prepare a person for their first job in wine hospitality or retail.
